Originally from Lancaster, Ohio, Nico Lozada was an academic and a gym enthusiast who studied Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering at West Virginia University. Inspired by UFC champion Israel Adesanya in his senior year of college, Nico embarked on his martial arts journey. Nico began training Muay Thai in April of 2021 at Kaizen MMA in Fairfax, Virginia, under the tutelage of renowned coach Dave Chun. Nico now trains out of Mantis Muay Thai in Reston, VA under Dave Chun.

Remarkably, in just four and a half years of training, Nico has already made a significant mark, amassing 11 fights to date. His dedication is fierce: "Muay Thai is all about testing your limits. It’s difficult, it’s grueling… and that’s why I love it.” This passion fueled a rapid ascent. After securing the World Kickboxing Association (WKA) National Championship in 2024, he quickly followed up by placing second at the USA Muay Thai Grand Nationals.

Known as a relentless Muay Khao (knee fighter), Nico is characterized by his ability to drown opponents in the clinch, making them feel like they’re being suffocated by his relentless pressure.

Balancing a demanding tech career as a Cloud Consultant for Amazon Web Services (a shift from his initial Aerospace Engineering path) with an ambitious fight schedule, Nico aims to fight at least 6 time a year. He describes his fighting style as high-pressure and unyielding: "Every fight I fucking give it my all. If you want to see an exciting, high pressure fighter who doesn’t back down, come and watch!”
